IS YOUR BIGSBY MAKING YOUR GUITAR GO OUT OF TUNE

2 THINGS YOU MUST ABSOLUTELY DO TO KEEP A BIGSBY IN TUNE

There's much to see and learn here. So, take your time, look around, and READ all there is to know about us. We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to drop us a line.

 1. You must absolutely prevent all the strings from moving at all through the nut. Allowing the strings to slip more freely through the nut presents a whole world of other issues and problems.

2. You must absolutely allow the bridge to rock or move which will prevent binding at the bridge. The strings do not move very much with a Bigsby but the bridge cannot restrict that movement.

ALSO HERE IS A LIST OF POPULAR THINGS ON THE INTERNET THAT DON'T WORK. AVOID THESE AS THE WORLD IS NOW FULL OF PERSONAL OPINIONS  ON THE WEB.

.

THIS IS MY ENGINEERING OPINION AT 70 years OF PLAYING THE GUITAR.

  • SMOOTH NUT SLOTS STILL HAVE FRICTION AS THE HEAD ANGLE CREATES FRICTION
  • NUT SAUCE DON'T HELP BAD TUNERS HOWEVER A String Lock DOES
  • LOCKING TUNERS STILL ALLOW NUT STRING MOVEMENT
  • ROLLER NUT DOES NOT ALLOW ENOUGH STRING MOVEMENT TO OVERCOME ROLLER FRICTION
  • YOU MUST CARVE YOUR GUITAR TO INSTALL A FLOYD ROSE NUT LOCK

A Sta-Tuned STRING LOCK IS DIFFERENT THAN A Floyd Rose NUT LOCK BUT DOES THE SAME THING

WITH NO ALTERATION TO YOUR GUITAR

I also definitely support an add-on well engineered  product for keeping certain Bigsby vibrato models from making your solid body guitar go out of tune which can be found at http://bricksbiggsfix.com/
